Found exclusively in Morocco, Argan trees (Argania spinosa) have given fruit for centuries. A traditional delicacy for the Amazigh (Berber) communities of Morocco, argan oil is a delicious and nutritious flavoring oil.
Culinary argan oil surpasses most oils, including olive oil, in Vitamin E, antioxidants, unsaturated fatty acids such as oleic and linoleic acids, and contains absolutely no cholesterol. Research has shown that culinary argan oil can reduce hypertension and improve digestion and liver function. Moreover, argan oil has been found to restore insulin levels in fat and liver cells, making it a beneficial cooking ingredient for diabetics.

How to Use Culinary Argan Oil
Culinary Argan Oil is used as flavoring in salad dressings, drizzled on rice, cous cous, pasta, steamed vegetables, warm goat cheese, poached eggs, quinoa, hummus or freshly cooked fish before serving or added to a pesto sauce, pie crust or muffin recipe. Its distinctive nutty flavor enhances any dish and is ideal for bread dipping. Add some honey to the oil and your breakfast experience will never be the same!
Culinary argan oil is also used for oil pulling. Oil pulling is a traditional remedy that uses natural oils to clean and whiten teeth and improve oral hygiene. Pour 1-2 teaspoons of culinary argan oil into your mouth. Swish oil for 10-20 minutes in your mouth, focusing on pulling the oil through your teeth to break through plaque and bacteria. Do not swallow. Spit oil out and rinse your mouth with warm water. Lastly, brush well! Repeat once a day or 2-3 times a week.
